Myth #1: Organization can be done quickly–a Professional Organizer should be done in an hour.
Let’s face it, the clutter didn’t happen in a few minutes . . . straightening it out won’t happen that fast either. However, the benefits of being organized and clutter-free greatly exceed the amount of time and money spent on getting organized. As the saying goes–time is money. The time you spend searching through clutter to find a misplaced item is very valuable (especially if you’re missing the car keys). A Professional Organizer can help you become more efficient so that you reap the benefits of time well spent!
Myth #2: One organizational system will work for everyone–I can use the same system as my neighbor.
Everyone’s organizational needs are different, and the systems that can solve disorganization are just as different. A Professional Organizer can help you discover the system that will work for you.
Myth #3: After the Professional Organizer has finished, the systems should just naturally run on their own.
Statistics show that it takes two weeks to make a habit (and two weeks to break one). Once a system is set up, be sure to keep up with the system for at least two weeks. Keeping up with your organizational systems is a GREAT habit to have!
Myth #4 Once I have organizational systems in place, I’ll never need to ask for help again.
Just like our lives change due to circumstance, our organizational needs change as well. Life changes, such as the birth of a child or moving to a new home, may cause an abrupt halt to the way organizational systems work. Sometimes a system needs only a minor adjustment; sometimes it needs a total overhaul. It’s OK to ask your Professional Organizer to come back to help again!
Myth #5 Professional Organizers have all the answers to my organizational problems.
It’s impossible for anyone to have all the answers. Even the most experienced Professional Organizers occasionally have to look outside of their field of knowledge to solve an organizational dilemma. Sometimes it may be as simple as calling a colleague who specializes in a specific type of system, other times it may require doing a little research. No matter what, a good Professional Organizer can help you achieve your goal to end your organizational problems!
Are you ready to get control of the chaos caused by the clutter and disorganization in your life? Organized Chaos can help!
